HSSK Attorney Julie Pinette Speaks on "Motherhood in Law" Panel at Quinnipiac University School of Law

Last week, HSSK attorney and Quinnipiac Law Alumna Julie Pinette, participated as a panelist on the “Motherhood in Law” discussion hosted by the Women’s Law Society at Quinnipiac University School of Law. The panel brought together accomplished female attorneys to share their personal journeys and offer candid insights into the intersection of motherhood and a legal career.

The panel explored wide-ranging topics such as returning to work after maternity leave, navigating the pressures of partnership-track expectations while raising a family, and maintaining a sense of professional identity amidst the demands of parenthood. Questions covered included, “What strategies do you use to manage your time effectively between parenting and your legal practice?” and “How do you manage feelings of guilt or imposter syndrome as both a mom and an attorney?”

Reflecting on the experience, Julie, who is a mother of two small children, said, “It was incredibly meaningful to speak openly about the challenges and triumphs of motherhood in this field. Law students—especially women—deserve to hear that success and balance are both possible, even in a demanding profession.
