Gary Phelan to Speak on Cognitive Testing in the Workplace at 2025 Connecticut Legal Conference
06/10/2025HSSK employment lawyer Partner Gary Phelan will be a panelist at the Connecticut Bar Association’s 2025 Connecticut Legal Conference. Gary will speak on the panel, Cognitive Testing in the Workplace, taking place Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Connecticut Convention Center, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM.
Presented by the Labor and Employment Law Section, this timely program explores the legal and ethical issues raised by the growing use of cognitive testing in the workplace, especially as the workforce ages and diagnostic tools become more widely available. The discussion will cover key statutes such as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act, and ERISA.
Gary will be joined by Dr. James W. Pier, Patricia E. Reilly, and David S. Rintoul for a wide-ranging conversation that includes analysis of EEOC v. Yale New Haven Hospital, one of the leading cases on this issue currently pending in federal court in Connecticut.
This session is part of the Workplace Track and offers 1.5 CLE credits in Connecticut and New York.
