HSSK Partner Amy Souchuns Secures Key Approval for Smilow Cancer Hospital Expansion at Greenwich Hospital
07/11/2025Representing Greenwich Hospital, Amy Souchuns secured unanimous approval from the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission for a major oncology expansion: the new Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich within the hospital’s existing facility.
The renovation project will span over 30,000 square feet across the hospital’s first and second floors. In addition, an adjacent building currently used for cancer screening and treatment will be modernized to support the latest in cancer care. To accommodate the new center, Amy also managed related land use applications for relocating services impacted by the expansion.
The center will expand the oncology services of Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center to provide more advanced care directly in Greenwich. The expansion includes disease-specific teams, nationally recognized specialists, infusion therapy, imaging, surgery, and private oncology rooms, with special services for women’s cancers.
The hospital has not released a construction timeline yet, but it is expected to begin later this year.
