HSSK Obtains Approval on Regulation Change Paving the Way for the Redevelopment of Connecticut’s Largest Mall
10/09/2023Hurwitz Sagarin Slossberg & Knuff Partners John Knuff and Amy Souchuns successfully obtained approval from the Milford Planning & Zoning Board for a regulation amendment that will allow for the development of multifamily units at The Post in Milford, Connecticut’s largest mall. Centennial, the national real estate company that owns the Post, envisions a vibrant, mixed-use community that it has successfully implemented at other under-utilized malls.
The amendment includes provisions for open space, affordable housing, architectural guidelines, sustainability, and more. The amendment sets the stage for special permit and site plan approvals for the 10-year, three-phase project.
John and Amy have extensive experience with mall sites and redevelopments, having represented mall owners and tenants throughout Connecticut for decades. Their work includes a complete rezoning and associated land use approvals for the development of multifamily units on a portion of the Trumbull Mall site in Trumbull, as well as approval for a medical office facility in the former Macy’s at the Meriden Mall.
