Hurwitz, Sagarin, Slossberg & Knuff Secures Zoning Approval for Prominent Trumbull Redevelopment

09/22/2021
In connection with a notable development that responds to the changing demographics and attendant needs in upper Fairfield County, prominent developer Senior Living Development secured land use approvals from the Town of Trumbull for the redevelopment of 48 Monroe Turnpike. The property – the former corporate headquarters for United Healthcare – has been a significant vacancy in the town for several years.

SLD’s proposal for Rivers Edge features the repurposing of the existing office building and parking structure into a dynamic assisted living facility and active adult community.

“SLD principals Mark DePecol and Tomas Haendler had a superb vision for the site and the role it will play in serving the local community. Their thoughtful design and execution will literally change the landscape in Trumbull,” noted partner John Knuff, who, together with Amy Souchuns, represented the developer.

When completed, the overall community will feature 340 units, with an expected 100-125 employees.
