08/13/2024Milford, Conn. (August 13, 2024) -- Hurwitz Sagarin Slossberg & Knuff attorney Sara Sharp will be honored with the Patricia Billie Miller Award for Outstanding Community Service at the Connecticut Women’s Business Development Council’s (WBDC) Annual Gala, Women Rising, on October 25, 2024.
The Patricia Billie Miller Award for Outstanding Community Service is presented annually to a dedicated WBDC volunteer – an individual who inspires others to achieve their dreams and exhibits a passion for and commitment to the WBDC and the women it serves.
Sharp, elevated to counsel this year, is an accomplished land use attorney who has also spent many years in the litigation sector. In this capacity, Sharp helps shape Connecticut’s towns and cities by representing clients before municipal agencies and commissions.
Sharp has served on the WBDC Member Advisory Board for several years, counseling ways to grow the talents and toolkits of female and minority entrepreneurs. She has advised women-owned daycare centers in navigating the guidelines necessary to earn certification. Additionally, she mentors HSSK’s junior associates and plans social events for HSSK’s junior attorneys to promote camaraderie and collegiality.
In addition to receiving this honor, Sharp has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, Connecticut Law Tribune’s New Leaders in the Law, and a Westfair Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree.
“We congratulate Sara on this hard-earned recognition,” said John Knuff, a partner with the firm. “Sara is an exemplary attorney, mentor, and colleague. She is an asset to our Land Use Practice, and this outstanding honor is well-deserved.”
